Keynote speaker and Neurodiversity consultant and mentor, Matt Gupwell is a rare breed.

Matt’s reputation as a Neurodiversity professional is broad and respected. He has worked as a consultant with the likes of the UK Government, Sony Pictures, leading Neurodiversity charities, and is a professional mentor to other people with ADHD and Autism.

He’s a popular guest on podcasts, offering a different approach to enhancing awareness that focuses on people’s abilities and potential. Matt’s experience spans 18 years in a variety of industries at all levels while undiagnosed, 15 years as a professional entertainer and now a respected career as a voice of reason about Neurodiversity.

An enigmatic speaker, expert communicator Matt’s ability to make the complex easy to understand is unrivalled. His passion and personal experiences will move audiences into understanding, desire, and a motivation to support the Neurodivergent people they know in their workplaces and their homes.

What sets Matt apart from most speakers is that he doesn’t want to tell you how hard life has been by telling you what the “Neurotypical” world didn’t do for him. Instead, he wants to share the potential, talents, passion, and abilities that all Neurodivergent people have when the are given the right support.

Featured Topics Include:

1
What is Neurodiversity? The answer is not what you think.

It’s a term you’ve probably heard but may not quite understand, that’s okay.

Neurodivergent speaker and consultant Matt Gupwell is going to clear everything up.

This isn't a talk about how the world is stacked against Neurodivergent people.

How Neurotypical people don't understand what it's like. It's a talk based in research, science, experience, and humility.

Delivered with humour, intelligence, compassion, and a desire to help everyone work, live, communicate and thrive together better.

This isn't the "Them and Us of Neurodiversity" so often heard by other speakers.

It's the "we the people, of all brain types, abilities and challenges."

Matt won’t berate you for deliberately not doing things to support him or others, rather he’ll foster a desire in you that will increase Awareness, Education, Acceptance, and Inclusion.

2
ADHD, Autism and Addiction - Why are they so often linked? A personal journey of addiction, recovery, and hope for others.

It took 49 years, lots of pain and a whole lot of work to for Matt to realise that not only had he always had ADHD, but he'd also always had an addictive personality.

When Matt hit “Rock Bottom” what was clear was that everything was linked. In this talk Matt shares how early trauma shaped his addiction and could have exacerbated his ADHD as well.

You'll learn why undiagnosed Autism put him at risk of the abuse he suffered at the hands of strangers and why Autism meant it took so long for him to tell anyone.

He'll share why the medical approaches, including medication he received could never have worked in the way intended.

But he'll also share how having ADHD and Autism has actually helped his recovery and why it can, with the right understanding, help others live free from addiction as well.

This talk is as important for parents of young children as it is for adults.
