One of the finest comediennes on the stand-up circuit, she is a great choice for any event particularly for those live corporate events that need that extra bite!
Born in Kent, Jo’s first job was at Dr Barnardo’s home, following in the footsteps of her mother, a social worker. After this, she moved to London and became a psychiatric nurse. Dealing on a daily basis with drug addicts, alcohol abuse and the clinically depressed, it was her sense of humour that kept her going.
Jo has also made a name as writer and actress as when she co-created, wrote and started in the BBC Four show Getting on, for which she won a BAFTA in 2011. More recently she has also co-written and stars in Damned (Channel 4), a sitcom which follows he lives of a set of social workers, and co-stars Alan Davies.
