Ollie Thorn’s story changed abruptly after experiencing a life changing injury which left him paralysed from the chest down.

Having to navigate a long journey through rehabilitation, Ollie developed skills to successfully build resilience, manage change, adapt, and thrive in the face of adversity. Ollie’s belief is that you can survive anything if you develop the inner resources and mindset to face it and forge a new path.

Ollie’s career has since taken him from, adrenaline fuelled professional sport, working with people with disabilities in extreme poverty around the world, to leadership positions within big business.

In his current role – as a speaker and advisor – he is telling his own story and doing what he enjoys most, making people feel something to create that galvanising moment of change. He also loves to test his limits through endurance sports with a world first on the horizon.

A natural storyteller, instilled with a positive energy, Ollie shares practical lessons of how to build a resilient mindset, embrace change and manage fear. All made tangible through the practical examples and insights shared and underpinned by his personal journey. Ollie’s injury may have marked a major turning point in his life but has made him the person he is today.

Ollie has also developed a passion for Disability Inclusion; working globally to create a more inclusive world in both the charity sector and business. These experiences range from facilitating a world leading disability leadership development programme, advising and working alongside internal teams to develop and deliver disability strategies, and advocating for improved disability inclusion in the humanitarian space as a board member on a large international charity.
