His passion for adventure began in his teens and early twenties through countless misadventures, from dodging bombings in Beirut to searching for lions with Army Generals in Uganda. Since then, Oli’s expeditions have taken him through deserts, jungles, mountains and war-torn regions across more than 75 countries. He has led teams through high-risk situations, from summiting Iraq’s highest mountain to navigating the militia-filled jungles of the Congo and the backstreets of Aleppo, Syria.
Among his many achievements, Oli has completed an 8,000-mile solo winter journey across the mountainous spine of Asia, guided one of the first tourist groups through Syria since the civil war, completed a solo 405-mile crossing of the world’s largest frozen lake in Siberia, and in 2024 became the first person this century to complete a human-powered journey from Death Valley to Denali – the lowest to highest points in North America.
