Leon Lloyd is a former England international rugby player, who has played at the highest level and against elite players such as Jonah Lomu, (and survived!).

Leon won 11 major trophies whilst playing with the English and European Champions, Leicester Tigers. Since retiring from playing the sport, he has gained a first-class honours degree in Leadership and Business Management, followed by an MBA receiving a Distinction. As a PhD candidate in Leadership and Change Management, he has gone on to work with many global organisations such as the Premier League, the UK Special Forces, Microsoft, and AMEX.

His years of playing elite rugby and working with elite organisations, have given him remarkable insights into the entire life cycle of high-performing teams. He has a deep understanding of how high-performing teams are made, how they, or individuals can be crushed, and then rebuilt, and how they can go on to develop a sustainable winning mindset and culture. He is passionate about the importance of attitude and culture when it comes to achieving high performance. You cannot buy a culture. Together you have to create and agree on a set of collective behaviours that have momentum.

He shares with his clients innumerable insights, stories, practical tools, tips and techniques and a step-by-step framework for building a winning team and achieving sustained success. He also shares how you can go from the highest of the highs to the lowest of the lows, and then come back stronger.

Book Leon Lloyd

Leon Lloyd grew up in Coventry and still maintains a dream to score the winning goal in an FA Cup Final for Coventry City. As the eldest of four children, Leon left school at 16 to pursue a professional sports career and has benefitted from lots of support and guidance along his journey. As a result of this, giving back to others less fortunate is high on his personal agenda and has been an Ambassador and Business Mentor for the Prince’s Trust since 2004 as well as being a Patron for Action Deafness. He is a co-founder of the Switch the Play Foundation, the first UK charity that assists professional sports people in transitioning away from their sport. Similarly, he also sits as an advisor to the UK Government on supporting veterans in finding their next careers, intending to make the UK the best place in the world to be a veteran by 2028.

By fully understanding your role within your team, and appreciating other contributions, you can maximise your strengths and align your personal goals with those of your teams. Using transferable skills that Leon has gained from elite sport, he’ll help you identify your own ‘World Cup’ target and the steps you need to take to achieve it.

All our actions are the result of internal emotions, thoughts, feelings, and external situational concerns. To be an accomplished manager or leader, it is vital you develop a high level of emotional intelligence in order to manage yourself and others effectively. In this session delegates will explore the essence of behaviour, thought, and feeling, and how this varies from person to person.

3
Success

In this session delegates will explore the meaning of success in their environment, and how that may or may not align with the organisation’s view of success. By controlling the controllables and focussing on the plan, actions and review, individuals will be able to effectively plan for success and the journey beyond.
