Kriss Akabusi is renowned for his outstanding achievements in athletics, notably winning a gold medal and setting a British record at the 1990 European Championships.
Kriss Akabusi, an inspiring motivator, host, and coach, began his international athletic career in 1983 as part of the 4×400 metre relay team. He is perhaps best remembered for helping Britain clinch gold in the 4×400 metre relay at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo.
Drawing from his experience as a professional athlete, Kriss excels at translating high-energy, inspirational messages into business contexts.
In 1992, as a three-time Olympic medallist and World, European, and Commonwealth Champion, Kriss was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty The Queen for his contributions to athletics. Transitioning to TV, Kriss presented “The Big Breakfast” and co-presented BBC’s “Record Breakers.” He has hosted various children’s programs and regularly appears on game and chat shows.
Kriss is now CEO of The Akabusi Company, a corporate communications and training firm, and is a sought-after public speaker. He is also an accredited personal coach from the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara. Kriss is the founding Director and Chairman of TACT (The Akabusi Charitable Trust), which promotes social and economic development in Nigerian communities. TACT funds sustainable projects in health, education, water, sanitation, and social enterprise.

Kriss was absolutely fantastic at our event. He hit exactly the right note and as we watched the video of the World Championships of 1991. All 450 of our delegates were cheering him on around the last bend and down the home straight as he secured Gold for GB. His enthusiasm and passion throughout his presentation and in fact the whole evening was totally infectious and above all he is just a thoroughly lovely guy!!
