John Sullivan is a former Royal Marines Commando with nine yearsโ€™ experience operating in some of the worldโ€™s most challenging environments โ€“ from jungle and desert to the Arctic.

His passion lies in exploring the world with purpose, and he has spent much of his life venturing into some of the most remote corners of the globe to research and develop factual programmes for the BBC and the National Geographic Channel.

Beyond media work, John has led life-changing conservation expeditions for young people to Namibia, Belize and Borneo, inspiring the next generation through adventure, responsibility and teamwork. As an advisor to the BBC, Channel 5 and other media organisations, he brings unparalleled first-hand knowledge of remote regions, local cultures and natural environments, building unique networks of in-country contacts, often including local tribes, to guide expeditions and productions safely and successfully.

Johnโ€™s talks are more than stories of adventure โ€“ they are lessons in resilience, leadership and personal growth. His audiences are invited to reflect on their own experiences, learning that change and adversity are part of life, and that being a victim is a matter of choice.

A master storyteller, John takes audiences on a journey of suspense, discovery and adventure. Drawing on his wealth of personal experiences, he explores:

  • Failures and successes and what they teach us
  • The value of research and preparation
  • The power of teamwork and leadership
  • Making tough decisions with confidence
  • Trusting the abilities of others and embracing the joy of discovery

Whether on stage or in conversation, John inspires audiences to embrace challenge, push boundaries, and approach life and work with curiosity, courage and purpose.
