David is a sports broadcaster with 25 years’ experience, and his particular area of expertise is the crossover between sport and sustainability; he is the leading content creator, host and spokesperson in this space.
His latest documentary in this space for Sky Sports is award-nominated; “Football’s Toughest Opponent” explores the relationship between the beautiful game and the climate crisis.
Along with speaking to and guiding elite athletes on their environmental sustainability journey, David has also worked with many clients: European football governing body UEFA, climate-positive sports like SailGP and Formula E, motorsport racing team McLaren and EV manufacturer Polestar.
David’s broadcasting career started at Oxford University where he studied French and German. He joined student radio station Oxygen FM, won the BBC Talent competition and then worked for BBC Sport.
Between 2003 and 2011, he was the main sports presenter/reporter at Radio 1 Newsbeat, where he covered football World Cups and Euros, Champions League finals, Wimbledon tennis championships, Ashes cricket series and Formula 1 Grand Prix. David loves interviewing the biggest names in sport, and has spoken at length to David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, José Mourinho, Lewis Hamilton, Sachin Tendulkar, Andy Murray and Serena Williams.
He joined Sky Sports News in 2011 as an anchor, also hosting live Premier League, EFL and Spanish football matches, and is a fixture on the channel’s famed ‘Transfer Deadline Day’ coverage.
David is also multi-lingual, a fluent Spanish speaker, and he has hosted bilingual events in English and Spanish for clients such as UEFA and World Football Summit.
