Arthur Williams is a broadcaster, presenter, and former Royal Marine who has earned widespread acclaim for his television work.

His breakthrough came with a screen test for Channel 4’s coverage of the London 2012 Paralympics, which led to him becoming one of their lead presenters. After impressing during the Games, Channel 4 offered him the opportunity to cover additional sports and events. Since then, Arthur has presented Channel 4’s annual Paralympic coverage, the Swimming Para Championships, and the PyeongChang Winter Paralympic Games.

Before his television career, Arthur served as a Royal Marine with Lima Company 42 Commando and 6 Assault Squadron. During his service, he was highly active and physically fit, serving in Sierra Leone aboard HMS Albion and specializing as a signaler in military communications. However, in 2007, a severe car accident left him paralyzed from the waist down. Demonstrating immense courage, Arthur rebuilt his life, transitioning into a career in media and pursuing his passion for aviation. After his first trial flight lesson, he became hooked and eventually earned his private pilot’s license.

Arthur made his debut as a factual presenter on Channel 4, using his expertise in military history in the two-part series D-Day As It Happened. He followed this with a documentary, The Plane That Saved Britain, where he explored his fascination with the de Havilland Mosquito aircraft. He later presented Flying to the Ends of the Earth, which took him to some of the most remote locations on the planet, including Siberia, the South Pacific Islands, and the Peruvian jungle. In Flying Across Britain with Arthur Williams, he explored the UK’s unique airfields from the skies in his 1940s Piper Cub aircraft.

In addition to his work in aviation and military history, Arthur has hosted several other documentaries, including 48 Hours to Victory alongside Dermot O’Leary, How Britain Won World War II, and Walking Wartime Britain for Channel 5. He also co-presented Plane Spotting Live on BBC4 with Peter Snow and Andi Peters, uncovering the engineering marvels and histories behind aircraft.

More recently, Arthur has worked on two series for National Geographic, Secrets of World War II From Above and Defending Europe. Beyond television, Arthur is a highly regarded motivational speaker and corporate presenter, working with brands like Embraer and British Airways.

In his spare time, Arthur is a qualified flying instructor, enjoys teaching, and can often be found renovating properties or tackling DIY projects.
