Anita Patel is a neuro-inclusion speaker, trainer and neurodiversity coach, who combines both professional expertise and lived experience to inform her work.

Diagnosed with both Autism and ADHD in adulthood, after also recovering from cancer, she continues to raise understanding about supporting hidden disabilities – achieving meaningful change in the EDI space.
Anita specialises in intersectionality and the diversity within neurodiversity, adopting a strength-based approach that counters deficit-focused models.

Through her business, Anita Patel Coaching, she helps to create more neuro-affirming environments – working with individuals and organisations across all settings.

Anita’s passion lies in removing barriers for all neurodivergent individuals, particularly those from underrepresented groups. Her advocacy leverages both research and real world application, making her a sought-after voice in the evolving conversation about neurodiversity in workplaces, healthcare, education – and beyond.

What people say

On behalf of the entire ULSB EDI conference committee and community, I want to express our sincere thanks for your powerful voice through your keynote presentation, “Re-Thinking Neurodiversity,” at our inaugural EDI conference on June 11, 2025, themed “Thinking Ahead”. Your words did more than educate; they shifted perspectives. You invited us to move beyond labels and assumptions and embrace neurodiversity not as a challenge to accommodate, but as a vital and enriching part of human difference. Your ability to weave insight, personal reflection, and practical wisdom left an indelible mark on everyone in the room.

I had the absolute pleasure of hearing Anita speak as a guest during Neurodiversity Celebration Week at ASOS, and I can’t recommend her enough. Her talk on Neurodiversity and Intersectionality was powerful, insightful, and deeply resonant. Anita has a unique ability to bring complex, often underrepresented perspectives to life in a way that’s accessible, engaging, and full of heart. She spoke with warmth, clarity, and courage- sharing her lived experience and expertise in a way that encouraged reflection, connection, and action. If you’re looking for a speaker who brings authenticity and depth to the conversation around neurodiversity, Anita is outstanding.
