Originally a centre, Bowen decided to take on a new challenge and switched to playing as a wing.

In those early days with Plymouth Albion, he wasted no time making his mark, using his lightning-fast pace and incredible agility saw him as one of Plymouth’s top try scorers in his first season, and top try scorer for the next season. This remarkable feat earned him the title of Plymouth’s young player of the season, not just once, but for two consecutive seasons.

Bowen’s talent and dedication didn’t go unnoticed and in 2014, he proudly made his debut for the England Sevens team, representing his country for the next 8 years. This impressive tenure in the England Sevens team saw him play all around the world, competing against the best teams in the game and thriving whilst doing it!

When life took an unexpected turn with the arrival of COVID, Bowen, adapted to the changing times and channeled his expertise by teaching rugby and fitness with England teammate, Megan Jones, reaching out to aspiring athletes online and in schools. His commitment to promoting the sport even in the face of adversity showcased his resilience and love for the game.
