Lizzie Carr MBE is a highly sought-after keynote speaker who shares her remarkable journey of launching an environmental revolution, collaborating with some of the world’s biggest brands, including Nissan, REN, North Face, Mauritius Tourism, and Vevo Barefoot.

Diagnosed with cancer at 26, Lizzie turned to paddle boarding as part of her recovery. What started as a personal challenge soon became a full-time mission. Within just three years, she achieved three world-firsts on a paddle board, transforming her solo fight against plastic pollution into Planet Patrol, a globally recognised non-profit.

Lizzie made history as the first person to paddle board the entire length of England’s waterways, solo and unsupported—a 400-mile journey completed in 22 days, during which she mapped over 20,000 pieces of plastic waste. She was also the first woman to paddle board solo across the English Channel, a record-breaking seven-hour crossing that doubled as a data-gathering mission to expose microplastic contamination in our oceans. She then went on to conquer New York’s tidal Hudson River, paddling 170 miles in just eight days.

Her best-selling book, Paddling Britain, was published in 2018, and she has contributed to leading publications, including The Guardian, The Independent, The Daily Mail, Metro, The London Economic, Vice, UniLAD, The Evening Standard, The Daily Telegraph, and The Times.

Recognised as one of the ‘Top 10 Female Climate Activists’ by Stylist, Marie Claire, and Glamour, Lizzie was also named Stylist’s Inspiration of the Year at the Remarkable Women Awards in 2020. She has been listed as a LinkedIn Changemaker, received the Prime Minister’s Points of Light award, and was honoured with an MBE in 2021 for her outstanding contributions to environmental work and activism.

A regular contributor on Steph’s Packed Lunch (Channel 4) and Sky News, Lizzie also hosts the hit podcast Earth Shakers. Her media appearances include The One Show (BBC One), BBC, ITV, and Channel 5 News, The Russell Howard Hour (Sky), The Daily Climate Show (Sky), Politics Live (BBC Two), and Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show (Virgin Radio).

She has taken the stage at major events, including Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place, Latitude, and Wilderness festivals, sharing her powerful story of endurance, survival, and determination to drive change—not just in her own life, but for the planet. Lizzie continues to challenge policy, disrupt government agendas with scientific insight, and rally support from MPs, public figures, celebrities, and scientists.
