TOPICS:
Katherine Baldwin is a wellbeing speaker, mental health advocate, transformational coach and author who shares her personal experience of an eating disorder, addictions, burnout and breakdown.
Katherine Baldwin is a former international correspondent for Bloomberg and Reuters, a career that took her around the globe with British prime ministers and VIPs. She worked in Mexico and Brazil, travelled to Iraq, Afghanistan, China, Japan, the United States and Europe and reported on elections, wars, tsunamis, earthquakes and terrorist attacks. Competent and confident on the outside, Katherine struggled on the inside with low self-esteem, chronic anxiety and imposter syndrome and, throughout her career, was binge eating, binge drinking, compulsively exercising and over-working to cope with her stressful feelings. These self-harming behaviours ultimately led to breakdown and burnout while working in the Houses of Parliament and reporting from No. 10 Downing Street.
Following a 20-year personal development and healing journey, Katherine Baldwin has found purpose in her pain and uses her experiences to support individuals to spot the signs of addictions and other self-harming behaviours, to manage stress, anxiety and difficult emotions in healthy ways and to avoid burnout. Through her talks, she educates and supports organisations to prioritise the mental health and wellbeing of their employees, so that they and the organisation can flourish and thrive, not just survive.
Alongside speaking, Katherine Baldwin is an experienced writer and media commentator with articles published in The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Good Housekeeping, Psychologies and The Daily Mail and appearances on Newsnight, BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine Show and local BBC radio.
Katherine also writes and speaks on healthy relationships. She is the author of How to Fall in Love, a personal development book that charts her journey from self-harm and dysfunctional relationships to self-care, self-love and a healthy marriage.
Katherine is an excellent speaker and her talk about managing difficult feelings in healthy ways was engaging, enjoyable and honest. She connected with the audience so that everyone benefited from her insights – we could have continued the session for the rest of the day.
Ronnie Cloke Browne, Founder of Pondero
I think the talk was pitch-perfect in what it covered and how it was delivered, and I think the attendees really benefited from it … I would wholeheartedly recommend Katherine as a speaker. She understood what we were trying to achieve with her presentation and was helpful and professional, and the actual talk was beautifully presented and of immense benefit to the audience.
