Garth Miller’s remarkable career spans commanding elite military teams on operations in hostile environments, managing safety for the world’s largest Boeing 747 fleet, to leading a Special Forces team on a record-breaking speed ascent of Everest.
With a particular interest in extreme physical challenges, Garth also draws on his time operating at the very edge of adventure in small teams on the highest mountains in the world to bring theory to life with powerful and impactful practical lessons.
By leveraging this combination of safety-critical management in the commercial sector with proven operational leadership experience as a commissioned officer in the British Army, Garth is well placed to provide a unique perspective on high-performance for individuals, teams, and organisations.
A graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, Garth holds a masterโs degree from the University of Cambridge and has completed 10 Ironman triathlons. As the Flight Technical Manager for a major airlineโs 747 ‘jumbo jet’ fleet, Garth was responsible for the safe and efficient operation of 57 aircraft worth billions of pounds. He has amassed over 15,000 flying hours and continues to fly to long haul destinations all over the world as a Captain with a leading British airline on the ultra-modern Airbus A350.

During his unique military career, Garth has served with the Royal Gurkha Rifles, Irish Guards and UK Special Forces. He has deployed on operations with the US Navy SEALS, and trained in desert, arctic and jungle environments. Garth is married with two children and lives in Henley on Thames. In his spare time, he enjoys flying vintage aircraft and is currently learning aerobatics. He has been on expeditions to five 8000m peaks in Nepal, Tibet, and Pakistan. In May 2025 Garth returned to the Himalayas to lead a team of Special Forces personnel on a record-breaking speed ascent of Mount Everest, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for veterans’ charities in the process.
