Caspar Berry is a former professional poker player and entrepreneur who brings a fascinating perspective to risk-taking, decision-making and innovation in business.

With a background that spans film, television, professional poker and corporate training, Caspar’s keynotes are original, thought-provoking and highly relevant to today’s uncertain world.

Caspar’s early career began in the spotlight, starring alongside Ant and Dec in the first two series of the BBC drama Byker Grove. He went on to study Economics at Cambridge, writing two feature-length screenplays that were produced by Film Four and Columbia TriStar before he had even graduated. By his mid-twenties, he had enjoyed a successful career as a screenwriter and director, working with major studios including Miramax.

Looking for a new challenge, Caspar took a bold leap – moving to Las Vegas to become a professional poker player. For three years, he played against some of the world’s best, making a living at the tables while learning powerful lessons about risk, resilience and judgement under pressure.

Returning to the UK, Caspar co-founded a media company which grew rapidly and was later acquired by Bob Geldof’s Ten Alps plc. He went on to become a leading speaker and trainer, delivering over 2,000 sessions in more than 30 countries to some of the world’s biggest companies. His clients include Google, IBM, HSBC, KPMG and Virgin.

Caspar has also worked as a commentator and presenter on various poker programmes, including Sky Poker and Poker Night Live, and was the poker advisor for the James Bond film Casino Royale, helping the actors look like professionals at the table.

Today, Caspar helps audiences understand how to make better decisions in fast-moving and high-stakes environments. Using poker as a powerful metaphor, he shows how individuals and organisations can embrace uncertainty, take calculated risks and think more creatively in pursuit of their goals. His sessions are challenging, entertaining and packed with insights that leave a lasting impact.
