Pride Month 2023
Each year Pride Month offers a fantastic opportunity for companies to address diversity, inclusion and LGBTQIA+ rights within the workplace, and take a stand for diversity, inclusion & equality.
With the aim to educate and inspire, our LGBTQIA+ speakers have a resounding impact, helping businesses achieve inclusivity.
What is Pride Month?
Pride month is an opportunity to honour, educate and take to the streets of major cities to enjoy the rainbow-themed Pride parades. Pride is an annual celebration of LGBTQIA+ equality. Every June, organisations across the world come together to both celebrate Pride and recognise the LGBTQIA+ discrimination still present in society.
Pride Month also prompts business leaders to reflect on their discrimination procedures and make important shifts to workplace culture to protect their LGBTQIA+ employees.
Celebrating Pride Month sends a clear message to your staff that you support them and their identities. There are many ways to celebrate Pride in the workplace, from booking an LGBTQIA+ speaker, to hosting a workshop on inclusion, and even reviewing diversity policies.
Looking to book a speaker for Pride? We have put below a handful of our LGBTQIA+ speakers!
They got married in 2018 and are now working towards starting their own family. They are passionate speakers on gender, equality and diversity and having become something of an inspiration to the wider transgender community, they work tirelessly to represent it both in the UK and internationally, seizing every opportunity to increase acceptance and understanding.
Dr Sophie Cook became the first transgender woman to work in football’s Premier League as club photographer for AFC Bournemouth following her transition from Steve to Sophie in the summer of 2015. In the 2017 General Election she contested the East Worthing & Shoreham seat, increasing the Labour vote by 114% and narrowly missing out on becoming the UK’s first trans MP.
