Tanya Beckett began her career at the Financial Times before moving on to CNBC, Sky News, CNN, and, since 1998, the BBC.
With over two decades in international broadcasting, Tanya Beckett is an experienced and engaging host and moderator, known for her sharp intellect and calm authority. Having presented across BBC World News, Radio 4, and BBC One, and with earlier experience at CNN, Sky News, and CNBC, she brings depth, insight, and clarity to every discussion.
At the BBC, Tanya has presented and reported on a wide range of programmes, including The Inquiry, Our World, Working Lunch, Today, World Business Report, and Newsnight. She spent three years living in New York, reporting for the BBC, and continues to work internationally with organisations such as the World Bank, EBRD, EIB, ADB, Chatham House, and the British Foreign Office, as well as with the Somali, Ukrainian, Moldovan, and Kazakh Governments on matters of trade and communication.
Tanya has chaired panels and high level discussions for global organisations, skilfully navigating complex topics and ensuring engaging, balanced conversations. Her international experience, fluency in several languages, and background in both journalism and investment banking make her an exceptional choice for business, economic, and current affairs events.
She currently writes and presents the BBC’s weekly current affairs radio documentary The Inquiry, alongside presenting news programmes for BBC News.
