Iain Dale is an award-winning broadcaster, author and political commentator.
He presents The Evening Show on LBC Radio (Monday–Thursday, 7–10pm), and has been a prominent voice on the station since 2010, previously hosting the Drivetime show and anchoring coverage of UK General Elections, US Presidential Elections, and both the Brexit and Scottish referendums.
Recognised for his broadcasting excellence, Iain was shortlisted for Audio Presenter of the Year (Broadcasting Press Guild, 2022), named Radio Presenter of the Year twice at the Arqiva Awards, and won a Sony Radio Award for Best Interview of the Year.
A prolific writer, Iain has written or edited over fifty books, including Why Can’t We All Get Along, The Prime Ministers, The Presidents, and The Dictators. His upcoming titles for 2025 include Memories of Margaret Thatcher, Margaret Thatcher, British By-Elections, and The Taoiseach.
Iain is a visiting professor at the University of East Anglia, where he graduated in 1985. He is a non-executive director of the Lending Standards Board and an ambassador for Diabetes UK and the Royal Osteoporosis Society.
He co-hosts the podcast Where Politics Meets History with Dr Tessa Dunlop, and has produced several others including For the Many, Iain Dale All Talk, and Cross Question. A regular contributor to major UK news programmes, Iain appears frequently on Newsnight, Good Morning Britain, and Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine Show.
Formerly managing director of Biteback Publishing, Iain published over 600 political titles, including Call Me Dave by Lord Ashcroft and Power Trip by Damian McBride. He is a former parliamentary researcher, political lobbyist, and stood as a parliamentary candidate in 2005.
