Sue Smith began her career playing for Tranmere Rovers, where she played for 8 years.

Following her early years in football, Sue went on to play for Leeds United for eight seasons until 2010. She then spent a year with Lincoln Ladies before finishing her career with six successful years at Doncaster Rovers Belles.

It was on the international stage, however, that Sue truly made her mark. She earned 93 caps for England and scored 16 goals, making her debut as a 17-year-old with a goal against Germany and later netting a memorable hat trick against Spain in 2001.

Sue’s talent and impact were recognised with the Nationwide International Player of the Year Award in both 1999 and 2001, and she was also voted Players’ Player of the Year in 1991.

Since retiring, Sue has become a familiar face on our TV screens, working with both the BBC and Sky Sports. A long-standing member of the Soccer Saturday team, she also appears for Premier League Productions and is highly regarded as a co-commentator and pundit.
