Alex Jubb has a passion for customer service spanning 20 years. His entrepreneurial instincts and business acumen helped him build his company Joal Leisure into the UK’s largest static caravan dealer. As a dedicated businessman Alex has diversified Joal Leisure to encompass a range of complementary businesses, including developing a future proof eco-friendly home designed to save the environment and tackle the shortage of affordable housing.
Alex spent his formative years in Florida, where he studied American history, business and creative writing. At the tender age of 18 he began his business career in the cut-throat sales industry, selling caravans for the largest family owned leisure group in the UK.

Alex refused to let his dyslexia hold him back and within six months he was the top salesman in the company. His natural business acumen did not go unnoticed, and he was swiftly promoted to assistant sales manager. It was during this time that Alex developed an interest in the wider business world and set himself the goal of one day running his own company.

Alex took a step closer to achieving his dream when he became business development manager at a specialist leisure company. Putting his infectious personality and eye for new business opportunities to good use, Alex played a pivotal role in building the company’s annual turnover to over £4m.

In 2000 Alex took the plunge and finally realised his dream of being his own boss. Using just a £7,000 overdraft he set up Joal Leisure Group, and within three years the company achieved a turnover of £1.5m. Never one to rest on his laurels, Alex continued to diversify and expand his company and has successfully developed it into a sector leader with a combined turnover of £14m.

Alex is always looking out for emerging markets and the next big thing. His enthusiasm for business is as strong now as it was 20 years ago and he strives to make the most of every opportunity he is presented with.

One of Alex’s most ambitious projects is the launch of the UK’s first eco-friendly home of its kind. Developed by his company Viridis Homes, climate change, rising energy costs and a shortage of affordable housing were the inspiration behind the project to reduce the amount of energy we use to build and run our homes. Alex envisages this 84% carbon neutral home to be a big step towards a cheaper and greener future.
